Harriet Yocum
Harriet has lived in Sioux Falls for 29 years. She and her husband, Michael own and operate a business. They have a son, Taylor, who is a senior at Augustana University. Harriet received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with an emphasis in Business Management. After being in the workforce for several years she decided to follow her passion and dedicate her time and talent to serving others as a community volunteer.
She has been involved with supporting the nonprofit work of the Sioux Falls community for over 20 years as a volunteer. She has a rich history in leadership development, fundraising, and management through her professional work in a variety of industries. In addition to being an executive member of ESC she is currently involved with Ronald McDonald House Charities of SD as Vice Chair. Other civic affiliations include: Junior League of Sioux Falls President 2015-16, President Elect 2014-2015, Human Trafficking Task 2012 – present, various committee chair positions, Avera Foundation Big Grape committee member, Community Back Program member, and Friendship Community Church Advisory Board. In her spare time she enjoys doing outreach ministry, dining out, traveling, driving fast in her little red corvette and most of all spending time with family and friends. Harriet loves to teach, inspire, and build relationships with others through social opportunities. |
